I'm working on putting up a series of polaroid photographs from a cross country trip my friend Jill and I took some 12 year ago, after I graduated from college. I documented our three month road trip on film, and mostly Polaroid film, and I am so glad I did. Keep an eye out for those in the next few days.

I'll be back here tomorrow to share a few photos I took at the beginning of the year.

I'm delving into my archives a bit. I've been busy working on some new projects in the new year. I'm really happy to be working with an incredible NFP right here in Brooklyn, and I've been photographing a bit, too! I'll share Sian's feature in the next few weeks.

One of my resolutions is to send more post packages and letters to friends, making it a more diligent part of my everyday and I'm happy to say I've started my new year off right; with bundles and letters to loved ones and hope to keep this going.





Also, I love polaroids and miss this film dearly. I cannot say that enough can I? I'll be updating my new photo website with more polaroid film photographs.

But, for now, I just wanted to say hello!

I have been uber slammed with work lately. Yay Summer! What's helping me stay in the summer mood are our weekend trips to the beach (hoping to have time to process film soon!) And a little gift I bought myself last night. I cannot wait for my new lovely tote to arrive in the post!

We dined on castel vetrano olives and wood fired pizza at a favorite restaurant a few nights ago and the magical sun made a garden patch of ferns glow. I have a few fun projects in the works over these next few days. I can't wait to share them with you next week.

pine green inside. bright winter white outside. The snow continues to fall and accumulate. I am looking forward to bundling up and heading out into this snowy winter later this afternoon. my studio is calling me.

inside my home as the sun sets today. Its -3º without windchill in chicago. So cold!.. and very snowy.

Finding the time

Sometimes its just really necessary to force oneself to make some time for knitting. I love how autumn does this to me every year. This season just isn't the same without a couple of good, even challenging knitting projects under the belt to pass the time and settle me into the season of layers and coziness.

my open studio show was this weekend. we had a really great time meeting and greeting lots of people and seeing familiar faces too. I am busy and have something fun in the works. Indian summer in chicago is delightful though most unexpected. I am anxious to settle into my studio with warm tea, smooth flowing pens and piles of inspiration while all wrapped up in scarves and warm sweaters. i can think of nothing better.

Looking out our back porch at a chicago sunset. I received the most perfect words to wake up to this morning in my inbox. I cannot wait to be on a beautiful, peaceful, quiet island. Now I am just waiting patiently for more perfect words, from s. its so quiet. the quiet always covers me like a heavy blanket the first few days. I received some wonderful gifts as of late and plan to put them to good use.

So happy about our new cushions. They really bring our rocking chair to life and I think their coziness is calling me. mmm.. cold brew coffee here i come.


Both fabrics I made the cushions from are japanese organic linen purchased through this wonderful website.

More simplistic in their designs, but I love the textures they give to living spaces.
