Central Park is ours! This is a beautiful thing.

Good friends from Chicago came into town for a visit and off to the MET we went --- to see Alexander McQueen's Savage Beauty once and for all. I'd love to go again. And I love that we have a membership to return all year round. Have you seen it? It's really an incredible show.

Raised by Wolves --- (a great little shop that recently opened in our neighborhood) R.B.W sells wears for ladies and gents, but I really love what they're selling for the ladies.

This little guy definitely knows how to make the most of of a hot afternoon.

I've been daydreaming about the pacific northwest. I think S and I should journey westward and embark upon another coastal Washington drive, or even better? Sublet our Greenpoint digs and go here for a few months. Yes.

Post brunch at Diner NYC and a peak at our new neighborhood. We've had intense summer hottness this past week, but I really love how the hazyness is translated on film.

On the hunt for the local sweet stuff..

And the simple, but most perfect summery snack.

The busy work schedule these past few weeks definitely didn't stop us from walking a few blocks up the street to Eastern District to grab ourselves a growler. Such a great shop to have close by; we really love what they are doing over there.

thoughts on brooklyn

This is my mommom in her new kitchen. She's a Jersey girl (as is my mother)... but before she lived in Jersey, she lived in Brooklyn.

My great-grandparents (my mommom's parents) owned a Candy Store in Brooklyn during the roaring twenties, and during what I imagine to be the prime of their lives. Thoughts of them weigh heavily when I wander these streets and I feel like I'm tapping into something I never knew before.

It is really nice being closer to family, here, too and by family I also refer to those wonderful friends who feel like family... and we have so many of those incredible people here.

I've had a fun first few weeks here. (makes me a bit dizzy just thinking about it all.) I've been in town for nearly two weeks and already have a few photo shoots under my belt. (I'll be telling you more about this in the weeks to come.) But for now I'll offer you a little outtake below of a cutie I met last week.

Preparing a light lunch at home in Chicago... a place I now refer to as Elvira... (a beautiful engraved glass detail on the building we called home for six years...)

I've been busy with a few fun projects since we landed in Brooklyn, but am excited to show you a few snaps of our new home in Greenpoint, and soon!

One of my last projects in chicago was memorializing Stephen and Tyler's studio space which we called Wally's... once a bar named Wally's Lounge in Chicago later transformed into a studio for Cupola Bobber for many years. Wally's was their home....

A truly special place.

Before Stephen and I flew to Brooklyn to find our new home, we lounged in
Millennium Park for a free Bonnie Prince Billy concert, which was out of this world. He was brilliant that night; a perfect summer evening in chicago.

Our June was hectic; full of trips to and from chicago to new york and then packing and sorting and then doing the most incredible purge of our lives, it seems... which really still feels so incredible -- we had put off a good purge for years!

We've been in our new home in Greenpoint, Brooklyn for a week now and every day I feel like we fall in love with our new neighborhood more and more. There is much more to say and share, but I'll leave you on this note for now.

Excited to show you our new home!
